To Hakuba by Train

Travel by train is undoubtedly the most comfortable and most dependable particularly in winter when roads can easily be slowed by traffic or weather conditions. We advise guests to look into JR rail passes if they are going to use the train to travel to the lodge.

From Tokyo (Tokyo Station)
From Tokyo Station, take the Nagano bound high-speed Asama Shinkansen. It takes about an hour and 30 minutes. Then take a bus from Nagano station. The Asama bullet-bold trains from Tokyo run from 6:24am to 22:04pm. Please check for updated schedules at www.hyperdia.com

From Tokyo (Shinjuku Station)
From Shinjuku Station, take the (Super Azusa) Chuo limited express. The Super Azusa departs from Shinjuku Station and goes directly to Hakuba Station. It takes about 4 hours. Please check for updated schedules at www.hyperdia.com

From Osaka, Kyoto or Hyogo
From Osaka, Kyoto or Hyogo, take the Sanyo Shinkansen to Nagoya. At Nagoya, transfer and take the Chuo limited express (Shinano). The train departs from Nagoya Station and goes directly to Hakuba. It takes about 4.5 hours. Please check for updated schedules at www.hyperdia.com

From Nagoya
From Nagoya, take the (Shinano), Chuo limited express. The train leaves from Nagoya Station and travels to Hakuba and goes through Matsumoto. It takes about 3.5 hours. Please check for updated schedules at www.hyperdia.com
